Everyone wants more energy. So let’s go over some simple and easy tips to help you improve energy. It’s such a common question. Energy is the lifeblood of our body, excuse the pun. Of course, if you are following one of the Isagenix programs – such as the 30 day cleanse or the President’s Pak you are going to help more energy because that is what they are designed to do. But lets go over some additional tips to feel better, stronger and to give yourself a little extra boost.
1. Increase your magnesium
Magnesium is something that will dramatically help your energy levels. Combined with a regular Isagenix program such as the 30 day cleanse or the presidents pak, adding in high magnesium sources of simple foods is going to really give you some extra go.
Try and add some nuts to your diet and meals. Almonds, hazelnuts and cashews are great sources of magnesium and can be spread out throughout the day as delicious snacks.
Increasing your intake of whole grains and fish is also a really smart move.
A simple banana is also a great option.
For maximum benefits try and get a source of magnesium in every meal because loading up in say in the morning for example isn’t as good as lots of small doses throughout the day.
2. Move your body
Movement is medicine – as the old saying goes. Always move your body. It can be as simple as doing some squats, or pushups or just going for a gentle walk. If you live in a building, take the stairs. You don’t have to go crazy on exercise to get benefits. But you will see some great improvements if you make small changes in your every day life to include more “movement”.
It will increase blood flow, and drainage of your lymphatic system. Our ancestors were moving all the time, and with technology advancements the sedentary lifestyle has crept into society.
Meditation is a technique of quieting the mind to relax your body. A simple 5 or 10 minute meditation during the day will have you refreshed and recharged. A good habit to get into is a morning and evening meditation when you can really relax. However during the day, it’s easy enough to take 5 or 10 minutes to focus on quieting your mind and focusing on your breathing.
Meditation is a tried and tested method that has been around since the dawn of time. It’s so simple, you can do it anywhere, anytime, and best of all it’s free. So get meditating and watch your energy levels rise!
4. Drink more water
We all know that our body is made up of predominantly water. So fill up your body with it as much as possible and will will almost certainly improve energy levels! It is required to flush out all the toxins in your body, so the more water you can drink the better you will feel and the more energy you will have. Try and take around a large water bottle with you to remind yourself. Cold water is very refreshing, but if it’s too bland for you, add in some slices of lemon to your water bottle for a refreshing twist.
A great tip is to try and drink a big glass or bottle of water as soon as you wake up. After sleeping for 8 hours, your body is screaming out for water and is very dehydrated. This will put your body in great shape for the day and will allow you to be functioning at 100% and full of energy to burn.
5. Have regular blood tests
To improve energy levels, it’s a great idea to make it a habit to get a blood test to make sure your body is running at it’s optimum. Your doctor can check simple things like your iron level, thyroid function and other key measurements of your body. Energy levels can be directly related to what is happening inside your body so it makes sense to get things checked regularly.
If there is an underlying issue or deficiency you need to know so you can get it treated or fixed. Our hormones are very delicate and there is many functions happening in our bodies so it pays to stay on top of this and to be proactive. Getting a full blood test at least every 6 months will keep you on the frontline of your health.
