The idea of not eating for a whole day is usually a bit scary for most people. I know I surely love to eat food along with most of the population. So why on earth would you want to have 1 or 2 days of not eating.

Basically having 1 or 2 days of fasting (not eating) every couple of weeks helping to reboot your metabolism. Make your body go into a bit of shock. It also allows your body to digest your food and give it a proper cleansing without having more food stuff in your body.
Of course, if you wanted to fast for more than 2 days then that is a big no no. But like anything, moderation and variety is the spice of life.
